Critical Beatdown EP (2002)

by Dr. Colossus

  • Some really old shit from the vaults. Obviously not representative of my current sound but I still quite like it.

Made when I was 15 with shitloads of chopped up sampler (.rx2) files in a early version on Reason and quite a few distortion units. My computer didn't have enough disk space or memory to handle chunks of audio so I had to use sampler files. Probably how I got a taste for chopping shit up. As you may be able to tell back then I didn't "believe" in EQ (I thought it was for for dicks in Moog t-shirts).

    Tracklisting:
    1) Intro
    2) Banned In N1
    3) Worries In The Dance
    4) A Night In Stamford Hill
    5) Filler
    6) The Easiest & The Hardest Word
    ... more

Dr. Colossus. Punk Jungle. Used to be hardcore but then he joined Myspace and started drinking Baileys

A multi-genre Bass DJ / Producer, with a fetish for the ragga sound, Dr. Colossus started by planting his seed deep in Punk around 2000. Then over the years, feeding it a steady diet of UK hip-hop, drum n bass, nu-school jungle, and breakcore, it grew into a glitched out bass driven beast.
